12 Ways in 12 Months
LDS church put out their annual December Light the World Challenge - 25 ways in 25 days to #LightTheWorld by serving those in need.
People all over the world came together to participate in small and big ways.
On instagram, there was over 270,009 posts with the hashtag.
And last Christmas, videos on mormon.org associated with the campaign have been viewed more than 68.8 million times by more than 3.7 million visitors to the site and have been shared via social media platforms hundreds of thousands of times.
Social media has a profound impact on individuals all over the world and just because it’s the middle of the year doesn’t mean we have to stop now.
Challenge: 12 ways in 12 months. 12 ways to share your testimony on social media in 12 months. Each month has a topic, quote, and ideas!
January - Family

February - Prophet

March - General Conference

What is said is not as important as what we hear and what we feel. That is why we make an effort to experience conference in a setting where the still small voice of the spirit can be clearly heard, felt, and understood.
Ideas:
Share what you’ve learned.
Share a selfie of you and your family on the couch watching it together.
Explain what it is.
We have the chance to listen to so many different leaders talk about the gospel and we should be sharing that with as many people as possible.

May - Missionaries/Mother’s Day

Ideas:
The missionaries in my ward always tell me that the members of the ward have the biggest role in bring people onto Christ.
People are fascinated by what the missionaries
Tell them! Explain.
Ex: tell them why you want to serve a mission, why they’re important to the church. Post a picture of a ward missionary, yourself, a missionary friend, or have the missionaries over for dinner.

June - Temple/Father’s Day

September - A talent you possess
Scripture behind it: D&C 46:11-12
11 For all have not every gift given unto them; for there are many gifts, and to every man is given a gift by the Spirit of God. 12 To some is given one, and to some is given another, that all may be profited thereby.
Ideas:
God has granted to each of us gifts, talents, and abilities, with the hope and expectation that we will increase and use them—not for selfish purposes, but for the benefit of others.
Let us never forget that these gifts are given “that all may be profited thereby.
October - How has Heavenly Father helped you through your trials

Ideas:
Be real. Honest. Vulnerability.
People like people who are relatable.
Ex: prayer, friends, family, etc.
We aren’t perfect but we can be made perfect through Him.
If you feel comfortable, you can even share the trial.
November - How has Heavenly Father blessed you

Regardless of our circumstance each of us has much for which to be grateful if we will but pause and contemplate our blessings.
Ideas:
We often get so caught up in life we forget about all the small and simple blessings Heavenly Father has given us
Take a moment and ponder what God has given you
Pull out a pen and paper and write all the things you are thankful for as if you didn’t they wouldn’t be there tomorrow.
You would find you’re thankful for toes and fingers and blankets and many more things we don’t think about.
December - #LightTheWorld
Scripture behind it: Matthew 5:16
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
As you can see, you can be a light 365 days a year. And I encourage people to use the outlets provided to us to do so.
You never know who it’s going to help, you never know who’s going to see it.
And even if it only helps one person, I think that makes it all worth it.
